few updates...

Madilyn is feeling better and all of her bloodwork came out great. thank goodness. Here is her little update...

nauny- Naughty which she says if you make her mad then you are being naughty!!! or if the dog trys to steal her toys! she yells... "NO NAUNNY!"
she says pretty and shows off her shoes, or bracelet!! such a girl!
she says a lot more words but these are her favorites!!

She has been climbing everything including the counter, table, my bed, and its not fun! she gets into everything and I cant be lazy about it because she has free range to anything she wants!!!

Carter-
well our little 5 year old is going to Kindergarten in 2 weeks... I will try to stop the tears.... I am gonna miss my little buddy :( He is so excited though and he will love it! We'll see if he is "naunny" or a little clown... that hain and I are not sure about yet!! He is super smart but a little of a troublemaker!!! so we'll see what fun this year brings!!

Craig- he is heading into 5th grade. He tested into an honors program in which he will be moving at a faster pace and he will be in a 5-6 grade split class. We will see how that goes too. I am a little nervous about that.. He is very impressionable and those big kids I am sure he will look up to. Hopefully they will be good kids! Craig is awesome and I am sure he will do great... I just dont know how much more I want him to grow up and how much of real life I want him to have to deal with!!!! Kids have it hard!!! And not to be bias, but kids with red hair have it a little harder from those bullies. He is strong and I know will do well. But as a parent we dont want to see our kids struggle, so it may be a rough year!!!

Landon we ll he is just getting so excited for his baptism.. he is talking about it, planning it, planning what he wants to eat after he just wrote an invitation list this week!!! His baptism is October 10th! We are so excited that he is so excited!!!! He is heading off to 2nd grade and hopes his teacher is nice! He is a Lego maniac and saves all of his allowance and earned money to buy cool sets... His brother get jealous and we have to keep reminding them that Landon saved his money to purchase it.. The other boys spend when they get it!!! Landon is very smart that way and gets what he wants because he is patient and saves!! smart boy!

Life has been busy with summer, but a lot of fun! 2 more weeks until school starts!

Madi.... oh the mess.....

okay well it all started a few days before the 4th of July...
Madi was throwing her food and not eating..
we just thought she was being a naughty little girl and called her a stinker...
She had a runny nose, but no fever.....
Then on the 4th I noticed her throat was covered in white sores...
SO I called Dr. Nally and he said take her to the ER she could have strep throat.....
So we went to the ER and they said "it looks like thrush and since she doesnt have a fever thats what it is" I told them what Dr. Nally said and teh disregarded it.. They did not test her for anything, just said it was thrush... ANd since Hain had said earlier in teh evening that he thought it kind of looked like that, I said okay and thats it. Even though the doctor said it would be weird if had thrush because of her age........but he's teh doctor adn he knows what he's talking about!
They gave me meds for it and we went home.....
SO 5 days later I just felt like something was wrong with her still and I took her to her pediatrician...
I went in and said "I dont know whats wrong but I want you to do a strep test!"
So they did and yes she had strep... At that point I was so mad! My little girl had had strep this whole time! She must have been in so much pain! She was grabbing her neck and saying "ow" and not eating for over a week! I was mad at the ER doctor because they didnt even test her for anything... then mad because I should have demanded that they test her at least for thrush.... they didnt do anything!! I even told teh pediatrician that the ER thought she had thrush and they said children who get it at her age have an immune deficiency problem..... so if the ER doctor thought she had it why didnt they check to see if she had other issues???? UGH!!!!
SO we got her antibiotics and she was doing a little better.
5 more days later I decided to check her throat and she had even more white sores!
By then I was freaking out! I called the doc and they said she needed blood work. SO today I took her in.. They redid the strep test and it came back positive again which the doctor said was weird since she has been on antibiotics for 5 days now!
They also said it now looks like she has Thrush and gave me another medication for that... by which I went to fill and out insurance said they wouldnt fill it because they had just filled on for us.. I then had to explain that my doctor told me to throw it away because she had strep and not thrush 5 days ago!
then we went to get blood work done....... they drew blood from both arms... imagine trying to draw blood from an 18 month little girl who crys at the sight of the stethoscope!!! Not fun by any means! SO hopefully we will get some answers soon!

random convesation........

Landon: hey mom if there was a bad guy and he tried to shoot Craig, I would just get in front and I would die.
Me: what? why?
Landon: because I love my family
Me: why would you die and not Craig?
Landon: because he can live and I would save him.
Me: what made you think of that?
Landon: It s just been on my mind....I just was thinking about my family.

I almost started crying! who thinks of this stuff? and at a young age who thinks of "saving" his brother? Landon has always had a kind loving heart, but I never thought this conversation would come up and that he would actually be thinking about this kind of stuff. Like he has it planned in his head what he would do if anything happened. He is so sweet and has a special heart! I heart him!!!

well Hain had court at 4:30 pm, so we thought lets go to the science center! He dropped us off at 4 pm at the science center and went to court. We were so excited!! So we went to the Lego exhibit (our second time going to that one!) and then did rock climbing... then heard an announcement "Science Center visitors we will be closing in 15 minutes!"
Nice!! They close at 5 pm... LAME
so we spent an hour there and then went outside and waited for Hain to be done and get back..... All in all it was a get out of the house activity.. but after that long of a drive it would have been nicer to stay longer!!!

We took snacks and as we were waiting outside carter dropped a wrapper
Craig: pick that up Carter!
Carter: no its not like the bishop is here!
Landon: it doesnt matter Carter pick it up!
Craig: Ya Carter pick it up its like a felony and you can pay $1200 if a policeman sees you!

so apparently you only have to do good if your bishop can see you!!! or if theres a policeman around!! yikes!

These kids are sure lucky to have a great dad!! ya I pick on him and give him a hard time but we love him!!! The kids got so excited to have fathers day!! They were so ready! They made art pieces for him, we cleaned the garage, they helped with breakfast and loved on him all day!!! Thanks Hain for being so great... you are just what these kiddos need!!!

I love my boys and had a great day with them! The excitement on their faces was so rewarding!!!

we went to the wrecking yard today.... Let me just say it was too fun!!! okay so my husband made fun of.. taking the kids to see...junk.... but they loved it!!
The first place we went, the owner let us in for free (it is usually a dollar to get in) the boys wandered and explored everything!! They each found a few small pieces of car parts that I told them I would buy as a reminder of our trip there.
So before we left we showed the owner what we found and he told us what they went to..
Then we said okay can we buy these now?
and he said NO... but you can certainly have them.
What a nice guy!!
Then we drove about half a block down to a body shop. It was filled with old cars. The guy there gave us a tour. We saw plenty of old cars, He showed us a few they were restoring. It was way cool!!!!! The oldest car they had was a 1927 ......
SO if you have boys you must take them sometime in their lives!! My kids were in heaven!!!
Notes: you have to call ahead and make sure they allow children.... It was a little hot so bring drinks and hats or go in the winter! They will get dirty so be aware!!

summer fun.... gotta keep busy

art work!!!

we did textured layered painting of these canvas. we used foil, sand, & splatter paint. I am going to frame them and hang them in the book room except for the pink one that one is my neices!!!! Canvas were $5 for a pack of 3 and the paint is just acrylic paint which is cheap!!

Love all of the different shirts!! these werent even all of the kids there were 4 more kids!!!!

a bunch of kiddos came over and we tie dyed shirts we found out what works well and what doesnt.. It was so easy to do and they all came out different!!!
(liquid RIT works best... the powder is lame!, also put your rubberbands on tight to keep the white parts white!! dont take teh rubberbands off till after you rinse the shirt well)

yes this is embarrassing to post... my kids are yucky... they say weird things that I am sure most kids say at one point..... Please tell me my kids are not the only ones who are yucky!!
